BJP formulates strategy to target Odisha government over inter-state border dispute, political violence

The BJP has strategized to attack the Naveen Patnaik government in Odisha on issues ranging from inter-state border disputes with Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal to crimes against women and political violence. Odisha’s main opposition party, during its state executive meeting on Sunday, called for its members to make extra efforts to reach out to the people, who have given the BJP eight Lok Sabha seats and 22 assembly segments in the 2019 elections. Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, who attended a meeting with another Union Minister Pratap Sarangi, called the cadre to highlight the achievements of the Narendra Modi government at the Center. 

He exuded confidence to form the next government in the state under the guidance of BJP chief JP Nadda and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. After the brainstorming session, The BJP made a strategy to attack the BJD government on issues ranging from the border dispute with Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal to the growing political violence in the state. The state executive meeting passed three political drafts and prepared a roadmap to win the trust of the people. Alleging massive irregularities in the PM Housing Scheme in the state, it claimed that no work order has been issued to any beneficiary in the last year and a half. 

The saffron party claimed to have topped the list of crimes against women and missing children in Odisha, While unemployment and MNREGA beneficiaries have steadily increased and other welfare schemes are being chosen according to their political affiliation. “The state’s 550 police stations are functioning as BJD party offices and political violence continues like the neighboring state of West Bengal. The law enforcers are about to reveal progress in the investigation into the killings of 16 BJP workers in the state, ”state BJP vice-president Bhrigu Baksipatra said after the meeting. He claimed that the Center has provided massive financial support to the state administration for the inclusive development of Odisha, But the BJD government has deliberately neglected the projects due to its vested political interests

. He claimed that the BJD government was destroying heritage monuments in Bhubaneswar and Puri in the name of beautification. The BJP leader said that the party is chalking out a specific strategy to take BJD to Pipli assembly constituency in the upcoming by-elections. Rejecting the BJP’s allegation, BJD lawmaker and former minister Shashi Bhushan Behera said, “The BJP has been struggling in Odisha for the last two decades as people have repeatedly rejected the party.” Party Vice President Debi Prasad Mishra said, “People, who are the masters, have blessed the BJD five times in a row.” . “BJP has been struggling in Odisha for the last two decades because people have repeatedly rejected the party.”
