More uproar in Rajasthan House as BJP wants CBI probe into phone tapping

The Rajasthan Assembly witnessed uncontrolled scenes for the second consecutive day – on the phone tapping issue. While the BJP demanded a CBI probe and toppled this well, the government dared the opposition that all ruling party MLAs would resign if this allegation could be proved. As per the agreement after Tuesday’s deadlock, Speaker CP Joshi invited the opposition to speak on the issue after the Question Hour

. Leader of Opposition Gulab Chand Kataria cited section 419 (a) of The Indian Telegraph (Amendment) Rules, 2007 and said that in the case of a state, the Home Secretary or a person authorized by him, not below the rank of Joint Secretary. Can authorize phone tapping. Referring to Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, Kataria said, “It is sad to me that a man inspired by Gandhi said that if a phone was tapped, I would give it in my resignation.” And on 18th [July, 2020] the state home secretary said that he had no knowledge of phone tapping – the person who has to authorize phone tapping is saying this.

On the same day, the Chief Secretary also said that he had no such knowledge. “” Now, when the CM, CS and the Home Secretary denied that the phones were tapped, how were the phones tapped? I believe that the CM’s Officer on Special Duty (Lokesh) Sharma went viral with three (audio) clips. The clips include those who spoke to (Union Minister) Gajendra (Singh Shekhawat) ji, who talked to (Congress MLA) Bhanwarlal (Sharma), who talked to (then Tourism Minister) Vishvendra Singh Ji, “Kataria said. “And then it was made the basis of the FIR lodged with the Special Operating Group (SOG) by the Government Chief Whip (Mahesh Joshi). Now who gave OSD any right to make such a clip, made it viral, and then get the Chief Whip to file an FIR. After this, three people were arrested – Sanjay (Jain), Bharat (Malani) and Ashok Chauhan – and had been in jail for a long time, “he said.

Now the government said that” phones were tapped, did God tell you Had sent a message that such and such thing would happen? BJP state president Satish Poonia said the phone tapping indicates “emergency” and cited similar controversies from the past. “My question is, were the tapes genuine, and was the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) adhered to.” Deputy Leader of Opposition Rajendra Rathore said that once the contents of the audio clip were published, The Rajasthan Police sent notices to Rajasthan Patrika and Dainik Bhaskar and asked them the basis of the audio clip.

He said that the newspapers replied that the audio clips were released through the phone number of “OSD to CM, Lokesh Sharma”. He also said that while submitting the audio clip, Joshi had “verified” that the information he was providing to the investigating agencies was in accordance with his “personal knowledge”.

“Therefore, according to your personal knowledge, you should also know about phone tapping. Rathore said, governments have fallen on exploitation. In his reply, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Shanti Dhariwal said that in his assembly question regarding phone tapping, Kalicharan Saraf had not given any name, Nor did he ask about any particular incident. He said that the central and state governments are authorized to maintain public order and prevent crime. He said that it was in this context that the police officers were authorized to intercept the phones of Ashok Singh and Bharat Malani from “illegal weapons and explosives

“. He said, ‘They are not public representatives. When these two phones were intercepted, a political conversation also ensued, where they were talking about the exchange of money, over the government. Dhariwal also read excerpts from the CM’s address and comments last year, where Gehlot said that if the allegation proves that the phones of MPs and MLAs were tapped, or if he used tapes to save his government If he does, he will leave politics. Dhariwal said, “She is still ready today.”

He said that if it is proved that the police personnel “intercept the phone without authorization, then I am ready to resign now… Prove that, CM is ready to resign … We are all ready to resign.”

Are ready. ” “We have not breached the privacy of any member, nor will we do so in future. If a member has a complaint, if their privacy is violated, come forward, ”said Dhariwal. However, no MLA came forward. Dhariwal said that in the FIR, the name of one Gajendra Singh, “who is talking about the government with Sanjay Jain”, was also cropped. “Now who is this Gajendra Singh, why is he not cooperating in the investigation?” He said that the main reason for BJP to raise the phone tapping issue is because it wants to save Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat. “If he is clear, So why is he evading the trial? For three days, the top SOG officials continued to visit his home and office for the vice test.

What does he mind? Will he give now, ”Dhariwal asked. Defending the CMD’s OSD, he said that “If Lokesh Sharma finds something and he forwards to the WhatsApp group, what is the sin he has committed?” Don’t you do it too? And why shouldn’t it be sent? … You say that he has made it viral, so why should he not go viral? You say that Lokesh Sharma made the clipping. Give proof. ” On the allegations against Mahesh Joshi, Dhariwal said that in all the three FIRs recorded by him, the first word is that he got information about the audio clip “watching the news going on television, and watching the audio clip”.

On Poonia’s question whether the audio clips were genuine, she said, “give voice samples, This will be verified. The burden of proof is on you on all your charges. “Dhariwal then demanded that the opposition apologize for raising the issue, not based on facts. Rathore then stood up and demanded a CBI inquiry

. In retaliation, Dhariwal then waved the charges leveled against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Congress MLAs, along with a news report on PM Modi. Angry opposition MLAs started raising slogans by climbing the well. Congress legislators shot back and cabinet ministers Udayalal Anjana and Kataria allegedly shouted at each other. As an uproar, Joshi announced the end of the debate around 1 pm and later adjourned the house for half an hour

. The House was again adjourned for half an hour and reconciliation at 2 pm. Still well with opposition legislators, Speaker CP Joshi said that it is everyone’s responsibility to ensure that no derogatory remarks are made on the Prime Minister, the President, the CM and that weaken the constitutional traditions. He said that he would have any such comment. To the opposition leader’s comments, he said that he has “spoken to Udayalal ji, and he said that he respects Kataria ji.” Joshi then requested the BJP MLAs to return to their seats and they agreed. Earlier, when the debate started, Kataria also prayed that BJP MLA Madan Dilavar, who was suspended from the assembly for seven days after interrupting the speech of Independent MLA Sanyam Lodha, Be forgiven and brought back to the House. Joshi then asked Dhariwal to bring a motion to go back inside the assembly. A resolution was “passed” and Dilawar entered the assembly a few minutes later. .
