Worrying: Less than 20% of elderly in the country get vaccinated with corona

India has shown a ray of hope to the world battling the Corona epidemic. This is the reason why there is a competition in the countries of the world for both the vaccine of Corona made in India. But ironically, after battling this disease in 2020, even in 2021, the countrymen are indifferent to Corona Vaccine among the increasing cases. People are not coming forward to install Corona vaccine in their own country.

Healthworkers, frontline workers and then the elderly above 60 years were given priority in the Corona vaccination campaign which started from January 16 across the country. But figures from the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) show that so far less than 20 per cent of the elderly (Elderly) across the country are vaccinated with corona. It is very worrying that there is no awareness about the elderly most affected by Corona in the country.

Dr. NK Arora, head of the Task Force Operation Group for Covid at ICMR, says that the data collected so far has revealed that less than 20% of people above 60 years of the country have taken corona vaccine. However, the youth group is responsible for this. Since the elderly themselves are not fully capable of taking the vaccine or completing the registration process for the vaccine, it is their child’s responsibility to bring their elderly for vaccination.
