10 roads built with Indian grants inaugurated in the Terai of Nepal

On Wednesday, ten roads built using Indian grant assistance of Rs 800 crore were inaugurated in the Terai region of southern Nepal. Indian Ambassador to Nepal Vinay Mohan Quatra and Nepal’s Minister of Physical Infrastructure and Transport Basant Kumar Nembang jointly dedicated roads for the people of the Himalayan nation.

According to an official statement, the roadways were constructed under ‘Government of India funding and Government of Nepal implementation’. Roads located in the seven border districts of Provinces 1, 2 and 5 connect the major cities on the East-West Highway with the Indo-Nepal border. The project implementation was done as per the specifications of Roads Department, Nepal. Each road is seven meters wide with two meter shoulders. The motorway also includes drainage, pavement, railings, road signage, marking and other fittings. .
