Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Monday attended the wreath ceremony of 14 security personnel killed in a shootout with Naxalites in Chhattisgarh. After the ceremony in Jagdalpur, the two went to Basaguda in Bijapur, close to the scene. On Saturday, a fierce battle broke out between the security forces and the Maoists, in which 31 people were injured. On Sunday, police released information that 22 people had died in the incident, after their bodies were recovered.

Both Shah and Baghel were in Assam till Sunday for assembly elections in the state and later in the day returned to Delhi and Raipur respectively. On Monday, both reached Jagdalpur for a wreath-laying ceremony, which was followed by a high command meeting at the Jagdalpur Circuit House. After the meeting, Shah said while talking to the media, “It has been suggested by the authorities that the pace of the fight against the Naxalites should not be slowed down in any way, which shows that the morale of our troops is intact. We are committed to taking this fight to its conclusion. Shah, on his first visit to Bijapur, flew to Basaguda, some 250 km from Jagdalpur. He was accompanied by Baghel and senior state police officers and CRPF.

Addressing the army personnel in Basaguda, Baghel said, “The fight against the Naxalites will be fought with better strategy.” He also said that development works in remote and border areas of Bijapur-Sukma should be completed on priority. . About 250 km from Jagdalpur flew to Basaguda. He was accompanied by Baghel and senior state police officers and CRPF. Addressing the army personnel in Basaguda, Baghel said, “The fight against the Naxalites will be fought with better strategy.” He also said that the development works in remote and border areas of Bijapur-Sukma should be completed on priority. . About 250 km from Jagdalpur flew to Basaguda. He was accompanied by Baghel and senior state police officers and CRPF. Addressing the army personnel in Basaguda, Baghel said, “The fight against the Naxalites will be fought with better strategy.” He also said that development works in remote and border areas of Bijapur-Sukma should be completed on priority. .
