The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Friday arrested Sushant Singh Rajput flatmate Siddharth Pithani from Hyderabad in a drugs case involving the death of a Bollywood actor. PTI quoted an officer as saying, “Pithani’s alleged role in the drug case that came to light after the actor’s death came to light during the NCB investigation and hence he was arrested.” Pithani stayed with the late actor at his Bandra residence in suburban Mumbai. Rajput (34) was found dead in his Bandra apartment on 14 June 2020. In August last year, Pithani and cook Neeraj Singh were questioned by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in the case of the actor’s death.
The CBI team, along with Neeraj, another Rajput domestic help, Dipesh Sawant and Pithani, also visited the late actor’s house in Bandra to recreate the sequence of events before he was found dead on 14 June. All three were present in the apartment when the Rajputs were there. Got to hang in his room. Commenting on Pithani, Vikas Singh, lawyer for KK Singh, father of Sushant Singh Rajput, had said that he is highly “suspicious” and alleged that he is a very intelligent criminal. Talking to ANI, Vikas Singh had said that Pithani’s behavior towards Rajput’s family changed after an FIR was lodged against Riya Chakraborty. .
