The Chief Minister of Kerala moved a resolution in the Legislative Assembly to support the people of Lakshadweep

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Monday moved a resolution in the state assembly, expressing solidarity with the people of Lakshadweep, who are opposed to the recent actions of the island administrator.

He said there was an attempt to destroy the indigenous lifestyle and ecosystem in the archipelago and implement the ‘saffron agenda’ through the backdoor. The senior CPI (M) leader accused the proposal of stating that the coconut trees were painted saffron as part of the agenda.

Vijayan said, ‘Efforts are being made to impose and implement the saffron agenda and corporate interests in Lakshadweep. This is the first motion in the House after the second Vijayan government won a landslide victory in the April 6 assembly elections. .
