According to the report, the Punjab government has earned a profit of Rs 660 per dose in the name of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) by selling the covaccine procured under the state quota to private hospitals. Apart from this, the private hospital gets a profit of Rs 500 per dose, as the customer pays Rs 1,560 for each dose.

At the same time, Union Minister Anurag Thakur has attacked the Punjab government regarding this matter. He tweeted and wrote, 1- Central government buys vaccine from vaccine manufacturers and sells it to states at the rate of ₹ 400 per dose.., 2- Punjab government sold the same vaccine to private hospitals at the rate of ₹ 1060 per dose.. Sukhbir Badal, president of Shiromani Akali Dal, has targeted the Congress government of Punjab regarding this matter, given the same vaccine to the general public of 3-private hospitals at the rate of ₹ 1560 per dose. He also demanded a probe into the matter under the supervision of the High Court.
