Akhilesh Yadav’s troubles increased, CBI took big action in Gomti River Front scam

Taking major action regarding this case (Gomti River Front), the Anti-Corruption Wing of CBI raided more than 40 places together with Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, West Bengal. Not only this, cases (FIR) have been registered against about 190 people. The troubles of former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav have increased. In fact, during the tenure of Akhilesh Yadav’s government, the CBI has taken major action in the Gomti River Front scam case. In the Gomti River Front scam, the Anti-Corruption Team of the CBI has raided several districts of Uttar Pradesh as well as West Bengal and Rajasthan.

Giving information to IANS, a CBI source associated with the investigation said that several teams of the agency are conducting searches at more than 40 places in Uttar Pradesh. According to sources, the searches are being conducted after the CBI registered a fresh case to probe the alleged irregularities in the project. He said that search is going on in Agra also. This is the second FIR registered in this case. Let us tell you, in connection with this case (Gomti River Front), the Anti-Corruption Wing of CBI conducted raids simultaneously at more than 40 places including Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, West Bengal. In the year 2017, a judicial commission was formed by ordering an inquiry by the Yogi government regarding this Gomti River Front scam during the SP government. During the investigation, it was revealed that the conditions of the tender had been changed for awarding the contract to the defaulting company. About 800 tenders were floated for this entire project under the Chief Engineer. For Lucknow River Front, Rs 1513 crore was approved by the Akhilesh government, but only 60 percent of its work was done. The contract companies had not completed the work even after spending 95 per cent of the budget. On the basis of the commission’s report, the UP government had demanded a CBI inquiry from the Center. Since then the CBI is tightening its screws on the big culprits of this scam.
