Congress MLA Pinky’s serious allegation on Sidhu’s favorite DGP, new ruckus on DGP in Punjab Congress

Punjab Congress President Navjot Singh Sidhu’s efforts may be sabotaged. Siddharth Chattopadhyay, who was made the acting DGP of Punjab by Siddu fighting the Punjab CM, has created a new furore. Congress MLA from Ferozepur Parminder Pinky has made serious allegations against Sidhu’s favorite DGP. Pinky alleges that an accused in the rape case is roaming around with the DGP. This is a very serious matter, he will talk to Chief Minister Channi about it.

At midnight, Sahota was removed and Chattopadhyay was given the charge of DGP, Charanjit Channi became the CM after removing Captain Amarinder Singh from the CM’s chair. DGP Dinkar Gupta went on leave as soon as the new government was formed. In Punjab, there was a conflict between the government led by Congress President Navjot Sidhu and CM Charanjit Channi over the DGP. After the removal of Dinkar, the government appointed Iqbalpreet Sahota as acting DGP. At that time Sidhu wanted Siddharth Chattopadhyay to be made DGP.

Now Congress MLA from Ferozepur Parminder Pinky has opened a front against DGP Siddharth Chattopadhyay. Pinky said that Punjab is a border state. This is very serious matter. I will talk to the Chief Minister. He keeps roaming with the accused DGP Siddharth Chattopadhyay. A case of rape is registered against that accused. His bail has been rejected from the Lower Court to the Supreme Court. He has been declared a fugitive. Still, that high-profile businessman comes to Ferozepur and puts pressure on the officers.

Chattopadhyay will become a permanent DGP if the Punjab government goes, on the other hand, the matter of appointing a new DGP in Punjab is also stuck between the Punjab government and the UPSC. Actually, there is no consensus between the two regarding the cut off date for making the panel. UPSC is considering the date after Dinkar Gupta’s removal. At the same time, the Punjab government is saying that the day the letter has been sent, the UPSC should take a decision accordingly. Chattopadhyay will become the permanent DGP if the Punjab government goes.

UPSC implicated the government’s delay in removing Dinkar Gupta, in fact, after the removal of Captain Amarinder Singh from the post of CM, the Charanjit Channi government sent a panel of 10 officers to UPSC on 30 September, out of which UPSC shortlisted 3 officers. Punjab was to be sent, out of which the government could appoint any one as DGP. UPSC says that when this panel was sent, the post of DGP was not vacant in Punjab. Dinkar Gupta was posted there and was on leave. The government removed Dinkar on 5 October.
