India has taken many important initiatives to tackle climate change: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today launched the 50th anniversary celebrations of ICRISAT at Patancheru, Hyderabad. With this he inaugurated the Climate Change Research Facility at the Institute’s Plant Protection and Rapid Generation Advancement Facility. Along with this, he also released a monumental talk ticket. During his address on the occasion, PM Modi said that India has taken many important initiatives to deal with climate change.

He said that although the climate challenge affects every population of the world, but it affects the people who are at the last rung of the society. They are short of resources, who are working hard to climb up the ladder of development. A large number of these are our small farmers, for whom the climate challenge can become a big problem. India has urged the world to pay special attention to it to deal with the climate challenge. India has set a target of Net Zero by 2070.

Talking about the challenges faced by India’s agriculture due to climate and other factors, the Prime Minister said that all experts are aware of India’s efforts in tackling the challenges faced by the country’s agriculture due to climate change. Most of the people know that there are 15 Agro-Climatic Zones in India. Apart from this, there are also 6 seasons in our country, namely Spring, Summer, Varsha, Sharad, Hemant and Shishir. We have also highlighted the need for LIFE- Lifestyle for Environment.

Digital Agriculture is an important aspect of changing India, about digital agriculture, PM Modi said that it is an important aspect of changing India. This is our future and in this the talented youth of India can do great work. Efforts are continuously increasing in India for how we can empower the farmer with digital technology. During his address, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that in the eternity of independence, we are giving priority to inclusive growth along with focus on higher agriculture growth.

He said that the contribution of women in the field of agriculture is very important. Efforts are also being made through self-help groups to provide all kinds of help to them. Agriculture has the potential to bring a large population of the country out of poverty and towards a better lifestyle. This Amritkal will also provide new means to bring farmers out of the difficulties of farming in difficult geographical conditions.
