Cabinet minister Nawab Malik’s judicial custody extended

The judicial custody of Maharashtra cabinet minister Nawab Malik has been extended for 14 days. A special court of PMLA took this decision on Monday. Now Nawab Malik will be in jail till April 18. However, during this time he can take food and medicines. The court has allowed this. Earlier, he was allowed that he could use the bed, mattress and chair.

The court had accepted his plea. Let us inform that Nawab Malik was arrested by the ED on 23 February in the money laundering case related to don Dawood Ibrahim. Since then he is in custody. Malik had filed a petition in the Bombay High Court last week seeking quashing of the ED case, but the petition was rejected by the court.

Malik is 62 years old. It is also important to note here that the Nationalist Congress Party has relieved Malik from his portfolios and as the guardian minister of two districts. This action has come after the case against Malik came to the fore. However, Malik says that his arrest is completely illegal.
