Actually, the World Trade Organization (WTO) is a multilateral organization that regulates international trade. It has 164 member countries and is headquartered in the city of Geneva, Switzerland. India has been a member of the WTO since its inception. The objective of the WTO is to eliminate protectionism and create a non-discriminatory, transparent and free trade system so that all countries can trade with each other without any barriers (excessive tariffs or restrictions). While five permanent members have veto power in the United Nations, no nation has the privilege of being in the WTO. Meaning everyone is equal here.
