Nigerian citizen organized to supply heroin

HARYANA POLICE is investigating a suspected case of illegal migration of Nigerians from Bangladesh to India. Nigerian citizen Joel Obi was arrested on 16 February in a case of “heroin supply” from Delhi and was sent to judicial custody on 22 February in Hisar Jail. He has no visa to visit India. He had an expired Bangladeshi visa. This is a suspected case of illegal migration of Nigerians from Bangladesh to India, ”Fatehabad SP Rajesh Kumar told The Indian Express on Tuesday. The SP further stated that immigration authorities have been informed. Initially, the police in Fatehabad arrested Vikas alias Doka, a local resident, on February 14 with 35 grams of heroin and 11 kg of ganja. According to the police, it was reported that Vikas was selling drugs in Kabir Basti of Fatehabad. “He revealed the source of heroin as a Nigerian man in Delhi, who was later arrested from Vipin Garden in Uttam Nagar, Delhi,” the SP said. The Visakhapatnam police have seized about 201 kg of hemp smuggled from Visakhapatnam (Andhra) to Fatehabad (Haryana), while Ramnivas alias Kala and Dharamvir Singh have been arrested.
