A team of women pilots of Air India recently created a record by flying the North Pole, the longest air route in the world. After taking off from San Francisco city of America, this team reached Bangalore via North Pole. During this four women pilots covered a distance of about 16,000 km. Captain Zoya Agarwal led this historic flight. He was accompanied by Captain Papagari Tanmai, Captain Shivani and Captain Akanksha Sonaware as co-pilot.
Flight Lieutenant Shivangi Singh, who hails from Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, has become the first woman pilot of Rafale, one of the world’s best warplanes. For the first time in the country, two Navy women officers have been selected to serve on a warship. The Indian Navy has deployed Sub-Lieutenant Riti Singh and Sub-Lieutenant Kumudini Tyagi on board the Naval Warship. Both the women officers are flying in the Navy’s new MH-60R helicopters after completion of training. The MH-60R helicopter is the world’s most state-of-the-art multi-role helicopter in its class. It is designed to detect and engage enemy ships and submarines.
