India vehemently denies US report on religious freedom

India has rejected the US State Department’s 2021 report on international religious freedom. Along with this, there has been a strong reaction on this. India has said that it is unfortunate that vote bank politics is being played in international relations. The US State Department’s 2021 report on religious freedom around the world was released by US Secretary of State Antony Blinken.

Antony Blinken said that ‘religious intolerance and attacks on people in places of worship have increased in recent times in India. He said, “India is the world’s largest democracy, where people of different religions live. There has been an increase in the cases of attacks on people and places of worship in recent times.” To this, Indian Foreign Ministry spokesman Arindam Bagchi replied that this report is based on baseless information of American officials.
