An RSS worker was allegedly killed by members of the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI), the political wing of the Popular Front of India, during a clash in Alappuzha district on Wednesday night. Police identified the victim as 22-year-old Nandu alias Rahul Krishna, who heads the RSS at Nagamkulangra in Vayalar Gram Panchayat in Alappuzha. Three RSS and SDPI workers were seriously injured in the clash. A strong contingency police was deployed in the area to prevent violence. According to the police, the SPDI held a meeting in Nagamkulangra two days ago against Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath as part of his statewide protest and boycott campaign, marking the BJP’s Vijay Yatra, a state to be flagged off last Sunday at Kasargod Was in Pre-Election Political Tour. SDPI activists shouted inflammatory slogans against the BJP. On Wednesday, SDPI marched another political campaign in the village. The RSS objected to the alleged inflammatory speeches. Later in the night, the two sides held separate marches. Police said that RSS workers were attacked after SDPI’s march, which led to the death of one of the RSS workers. The BJP called on Alappuzha district from morning to evening on Thursday. .
