United Nations again commends India’s success in managing COVID-19

When the world was grieving due to Corona, in those difficult times, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mantras of ‘Jaan hai to jahan hai’ and ‘Jaan bhi, jahan bhi’, India fought covid firmly. It is the result of Prime Minister Modi’s efficient strategy, vision, vision, unwavering intentions and tireless efforts that the increasing pace of corona infection was put to a halt and more than 195 crore people got a protective cover in the form of vaccine, while 98 countries got the corona vaccine. By supplying India became troubleshooter. Today it is being praised from the representative of the United Nations to the whole world.

Kanni Vignaraja, UN Assistant Secretary-General and UNDP Asia Pacific Regional Director called on the Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare Mansukh Mandaviya on Monday (13-06-2022). UNDP Director lauded India’s success in managing COVID-19 by using innovative technologies and tools. UNDP India representative Shoko Noda was also present in this meeting. Giving information about the meeting, Health Minister Mandaviya said that during the meeting, discussions were held to make health services accessible to all through digital medium.

The Union Health Minister expressed his gratitude for the cooperation of UNDP in the development of the CoWin portal, which helps in corona vaccination and vaccine distribution. In view of the increasing cases of corona in the country, the Health Minister said, “Kovid is not over yet. With the rising number of COVID cases in some states, one has to be vigilant and not forget about COVID-appropriate behavior (CAB).” He said that the five-pronged strategy of Test, Track, Treat, Vaccinate and Adhere to COVID Appropriate Practices (CAB) needs to be continued and monitored by the States/UTs.

Talking about India’s efforts to fight the Kovid epidemic, with its knock, where India imposed the strictest lockdown, on the other hand, along with strengthening its health infrastructure, started vigorous preparations to fight this disease. A task force for the vaccine was formed in April 20. 35000 crores was kept in the budget for research and development of vaccine. The fight against Kovid was strengthened by creating PM Cares Fund. Not only did India get two vaccines in just eight months, but the world’s largest vaccination campaign was started from 16 January 2021 by making a complete outline of their storage, transportation, procurement, cold chain application.
